Xinyan Chen

Xinyan Chen’s interests mainly rely on medieval Chinese literary and intellectual history. Currently, she focuses on the comparative analysis of premodern Chinese and Japanese poetry. Her research examines the influence of Chinese yuefu poetry on the development of the Japanese waka tradition. She is also interested in the Chinese Six Dynasty literature and the seven sages in the bamboo grove.
