Xinyan Chen’s research interests center on early medieval Chinese literature, especially Yuefu (Music Bureau) poetry from the late Han to the Sui dynasties. She is also interested in Six Dynasties literary culture, including the writings and intellectual legacy of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove.
